Habitat
The nests are generally made in the side of a grassy bank. In some instances the burrow is almost horizontal. It is not provided with a lid, but the opening is surrounded by a collar of grass stalks matted together with silk. One of the collars measured 2.5 em. high. The length of the burrow is about 13 em. A thick silk lining covers the walls just inside the opening, but the inner end of the nest, which is slightly enlarged, has no lining.
