The species appears to prefer moist conditions, such as swamps and marshes, and can also be found in the vicinity of rivers, lakes, and dams. References such as ''in water'' or ''apparently under water'' suggest that this species heavily utilises water sources, for example to hide from predators (such as collecting arachnologists).
